While making weighty hardware improvements in the iPhone 4S, Apple has managed to keep the costs of producing the phone flat. That's what the results of a teardown of the phone released Thursday by IHS iSuppli revealed. Teardowns take a product apart piece by piece to analyze its components. In the iSuppli teardown, the firm estimated that the total cost of the parts that went into a 16 GB iPhone 4S amounted to $188.
